Neymar & Lautaro: Completmentary signings and strategies

Football is paralysed but clubs are planning for the future. Barcelona want Neymar Junior and Lautaro Martinez.

Coutinho and Dembele have not lived up to expectations, Leo Messi has too much pressure on him to lead the way, while Luis Suarez need a replacement.

Neymar needs no presentation at Barca. Not in the dressing room, not the offices, nor the stands. The PSG striker can shine on the pitch for his talent and charisma. At Camp Nou he helped Barca to the treble in 2015 as part of the MSN trident.

Neymar showed that he can ease the need for Messi to shine above the rest. Leo knows it and would like Neymar back. However there are problems, beyond the complexity of the deal - PSG not getting along with Barca, the hurt he caused when he left, the wrangle over money.

Lautaro Martínez, who is 22, could play up front with Neymar and Messi, adding youth and hunger in the Luis Suarez position.

Neymar and Leo have great take-on ability, vision, goals, capacity to assist and decide games, while Lautaro has evolved a lot too, often leading the line with Inter.

He started off as a pure finisher but now he works well collectively and has become more versatile. This season he has 16 goals and four assists in 31 games for Inter.
