When he suffered a setback, it caused a rift between the club's medical staff and the player's entourage

The ongoing conflict between Neymar Junior and PSG really kicked into overdrive when he injured his ankle. According to 'L'Equipe', it led to a bust-up between the club's medical staff and the player's father after he suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken metatarsal.

Neymar was operated on by Rodrigo Lasmar, Brazil's team doctor, in March 2018.

When Neymar suffered another injury there was a problem brewing between PSG's medical staff and his entourage. The club wanted him to undergo an operation but the player preferred to play through the pain so he could feature in the Copa America 2019.

PSG's medical staff also believed Lasmar's work to have been 'unsatisfactory' and the screw put in place was too small for the injury. The first argument took place between Gerard Saillant and Neymar Da Silva Senior, Neymar's father, who defended the Brazilian doctor's methods.

That decision caused Neymar to miss a considerable amount of playing time and his latest injury, picked up whilst with Brazil, was the last straw.

PSG want Neymar gone but won't give him away either. Barça remain calm and feel it's Neymar who should do all the work to ensure he ends up back at the Camp Nou.
