The French forward's out of contract in 2022 and can talk to other clubs from Jan. 1

Talks to extend Ousmane Dembele's contract with Barcelona are ongoing but there have been no advances with the forward's current deal due to expire next summer.

Meanwhile, Dembele continues to draw attention from other clubs, with Footmercato reporting that Newcastle United are the latest side to sound out a move.

The Premier League side's ambitions have changed dramatically following a takeover from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

The cited media reports that Newcastle are willing to offer Dembele 15 million euros annually, an increase on the 10 million he currently earns at Camp Nou.

Barça hope that he will accept a pay cut to renew, which seems complicated given he has offers that not only match his current terms but better them.

In addition, as he would arrive on a free transfer, Newcastle are also willing to pay Dembele a 15 million signing-on fee.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have also been linked with Dembele, whose potential is of interest to the English clubs despite his injury problems.

The coming weeks will be key as we approach the January transfer window. If Dembele refuses to renew, Barça will leave him in the stands for the rest of the season, unless a winter sale became a possibility.
