It was the moment Pedri had been dreaming about ever since his move to FC Barcelona was confirmed. The 17-year-old stepped out in Barça colours for his debut under Ronald Koeman against Nastic, brushing shoulders with Lionel Messi.
Pedri's versatility meant where he'd slot in was a mystery. However, he played just behind Griezmann in the opening 45 minutes. Messi was on the right with Ousmane Dembele on the left. It was like he'd been playing for Barça his entire life.
A cross from the right went through Pedri's legs and ended up at the feet of Dembele. He poked it home to put Barça ahead inside five minutes. Despite not having much time to work alongside Messi in training, Pedri and he swapped positions throughout the match. He didn't ignore his defensive responsibilities either.
Pedri left a great impression in his first appearance for Barça. The youngster has said he doesn't want to leave on loan and would rather stay to learn from the best players in the world.
