New Barça midfielder Franck Kessie driving Milan towards Scudetto

The Ivorian is still a key figure in Italy for his team despite his impending switch

The months are whizzing by and soon Franck Kessie will be an FC Barcelona player. The deal is done and just needs to be announced. The Ivorian for now is focused entirely on winning Serie A with AC Milan.

They have gone over a decade without winning the Scudetto but are top with three weeks to go.

Even though they know Kessie is leaving, Simone Inzaghi is still clouting on him as a starter. He has begun 11 of the last 12 games, and played 90 minutes in 10 of the last 13.

It shows he’s a key figure for Inzaghi. Kessie is strong, has a lot of stamina, good at dribbling and long passes, and with strong technique.

He wants to leave Italy with the title in the bag, his first trophy. Then he will go on holiday and join Barcelona’s pre-season at the start of July.

How will he fit in for Xavi? It’s hard to predict but he’s got a profile that the coach doesn’t currently have in the squad. He can get up and down the pitch and manage the ball well. Kessie will probably play as an interior, meaning Frenkie de Jong will play in the Busquets role more when the veteran needs to rest.
