Barça and Valencia are close to reaching an agreement over a deal which will see Neto and Cillessen swap clubs

FC Barcelona's first new signing this summer will be Brazilian goalkeeper Neto. He'll join from Valencia who, in turn, will sign Jasper Cillessen. A transfer is expected to go through early next week.

The agreement between the clubs is for €25m although it won't technically be a swap deal. Neto will first sign for Barça and later on Cillessen will seal his move to Valencia.

It's done purposely so the deals are technically counted for different seasons. Neto will move before this season ends (30th June) and Cillessen's transfer will be part of the budget for the 2019/20 season (begins on 1st July).

Although Neto has largely been first choice at Valencia, the keeper's strained relationship with Marcelino Garcia Toral is the reason he wants out. The Brazilian didn't like how his coach rotated the two goalkeepers at the club and was disappointed not to start in the Copa del Rey final.

Valencia are happy to swap Neto for Cillessen as they want a goalkeeper with Champions League experience.

Any potential deals for Rafinha and Denis Suarez are going to take a while longer to complete.
