The Italian club called Barcelona to discuss what they want for the defender

Barcelona are trying to find a new home for Junior Firpo and the player is liked in Italy. The latest club to get in touch over the defender is Napoli who are planning on presenting a new offer in the coming weeks.

Cristian Giuntoli, the club’s sporting director, has asked Barcelona about Junior’s current situation. He wanted to know first hand the news and Barcelona told him that Junior could go.

Napoli positioned themselves in the race, although the economic crisis means it will be difficult to make a big offer for him. They have other options available but Junior will be the priority.

Napoli were hoping to loan him but Barcelona want a permanent sale. They would accept a transfer for 20m euros even if the payment needs to be delayed. No player exchanges were discussed.

Barcelona have long been interested in Fabian, but the price tag on him - 100m euros - is prohibitive. Madrid and Man City have also been in touch with him and are better positioned. Barcelona are saving their money for attackers.
