The Barcelona goalkeeper could be set to replace Pepe Reina as the Serie A runner's up number one

Barcelona's goalkeeper, Jasper Cillessen, is a candidate to be Napoli's number one stopper for the 2018/19 season. The Dutch international is attracting interest from the Serie A runners-up, as well as various Premier League sides.

After the exit of first team coach Maurizio Sarri and the confirmation that Pepe Reina will sign for Milan, the Itailian side are searching for a new starting goalkeeper next season. Rui Patricio (Sporting Clube de Portugal) and Bernd Leno (Bayer Leverkusen) were mentioned but De Laurentiis is looking at alternatives and that's where Cillessen's name comes in.

The Netherlands' number one, who recently played in the friendly against Italy, is one of the highest rated goalkeepers in Europe ever since his emergence at Ajax (2011-16). Whenever he's been called upon for Barcelona, mainly in the Copa del Rey, he's also produced fine performances and is well respected at the club. However, Cillessen also knows it's practically impossible to dislodge Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from the number one spot.

From now on it all depends on the offers that arrive at Barcelona's desk. The current stance is that they want any interested team to pay Cillessen's €60m buyout clause. This hasn't put off any interested sides which include Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
