The Uruguayan defender is set to be out for around 20 days and won't be available for the match against Barcelona at the end of November

There's yet more bad news for Diego Simeone when it comes to the injury front. His captain, Diego Godin, was injured in the match against Athletic Club last night and will be out for around 20 days. This means he will miss the match against Barcelona following the international break.

"I know what I have, I've had it before, it's a tear and I'll be out for at least 20 days or a month. I'll try to do my best so that it doesn't take any longer. If I'd gone off (in the match against Athletic) I couldn't contribute anything, it was worth the effort (to stay on). I stayed on for the set pieces. I know what goes through your head. I stayed on to help," added Godin who scored the winning goal for Atletico.

"I tore it when I was running with Williams, I knew it was going to happen. But we didn't have any substitutes left and they asked me to stay up front. There were a lot of minutes and at one moment I thought about leaving the pitch because I couldn't run. I knew I could only help in this way."

Simeone is already without centre backs Savic, Lucas Hernandez and Gimenez.
