Sevilla's sporting director is working on the plan for next season and has an idea

Ivan Rakitic played four seasons at Sevilla before signing for Barcelona. The Croatian was loved there and with his time up in the Catalan capital, a potential return to the south is taking shape.

Monchi, Sevilla's famed sporting director, said the Rakitic "would be the perfect profile of a wizard" for Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla side. Rakitic's contact at Barca is until 2021 but the midfielder could leave.

Moncho was speaking at a Vodafone and ElDesmarque event, recognising that he has "started to contact some agents thinking about the summer transfer window. I have meetings and trips planned to start planning for next season."

Although he didn't mention names, it seems Rakitic is on his agenda but Atletico Madrid are also interested. Rakitic played 149 games for Sevilla, scoring 32 goals. He is the club's big target.
