The goalkeeper made two stunning saves in the win against Atlético

Marc-André ter Stegen was, without argument, one of the heroes of Barcelona's 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday.

Ter Stegen made two stunning first-half saves, the first from Mario Hermoso and the second from Alvaro Morata.

However, despite his decisive performance, the German goalkeeper didn't want to award himself a medal and said: "I try to do my job."

He preferred to focus on the work done by the entire team and the improvement in recent weeks: "These games help us grow as a team and that's what it's about. I am really happy because now we've played well for a few games while winning."

Ter Stegen continued: "We knew it was a difficult place to come. It's normal that they have chances. They have a lot of quality. But defensively we played really well and in the end we've scored the goal which has earned a really important win.

"That's what we hoped for before the game and what we prepared for all week. I am really happy with this win."
