Miranda and Araujo will be with first team but registered to B team
The defenders will be in and around Koeman's senior squad this season
Juan Miranda and Ronald Araujo will have chances this season, although the left-back will first need the club to find a new home for Junior Firpo.
Both Miranda and Araujo will be registered with the B team but the club's idea is that they will train with Ronald Koeman's senior squad.
Koeman believes the young players need to play, unlike Quique Setien who didn't let Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig play in the B team's promotion playoff but hardly used them in the Champions League.
Therefore, while he counts on Araujo and Miranda as first team options, he wants to ensure they are able to get minutes if he can't play them.
Barça's current defensive options are Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet at centre-back, while Samuel Umtiti and Jean Clair Todibo are available for transfer. They also want to sign Eric Garcia, which would leave Araujo as fourth choice.
Miranda and Junior
Miranda has returned from a loan spell at Schalke and was expected to leave again but he doesn't want a similar experience as he had in Germany. He didn't play as much as he would have liked but did mature and returned better for the year away.
He has been the star of the B team's preseason, with one goal and three assists in two games. He's motivated and if Junior is sold, he will 'return' to Camp Nou.
Goalkeeper Iñaki Peña and midfielder Riqui Puig will also have a similar set up. They will be registered with the B team but will remain in the first team dynamic.
