The midfielder is not getting the chances he wants at Barca this season
Miralem Pjanic arrived in Barcelona this summer, expecting his experience and quality would earn him game time. However Ronald Koeman has tried him in various positions and not liked what he’s seen.
Against Alaves Riqui Puig and Ilaix Moriba started ahead of him. He spoke to Telefoot about his situation at Barca.
“I don’t have the exact reasons why I’m not getting the playing time expected,” said Pjanic.
“I’m working and I have to respect the decisions of the coach although I don’t agree. I want to make my mark on this club.”
On the eternal debate, Messi or Ronaldo, Pjanic - who has played with both - said: “It’s hard to pick one or the other. Cristiano is impressive for his consistency and the serious way he takes on his work. He’s so focused on the smallest details like goals or statistics that I’ve never seen anything like it.
“Messi is something special, it’s hard to make him well, it’s magical. They are two huge champions.”
