The Barça head coach and club captain spoke to each other for 30 minutes following the defeat to Osasuna

Leo Messi was furious after Barça's LaLiga hopes were ended by defeat against Osasuna. His post-match criticism felt like it was aimed at Quique Setien and the current system. "If we continue like this we're going to lose against Napoli." This naturally caused concern amongst the heirachy at Barça. However, following the victory over Alaves there was a much different tone from the club captain. What changed in those few days?

According to Catalunya Radio, Messi and Setien met up on Saturday to have clear the air talks. This meeting was called by the head coach, who had previously spoken to president Josep Maria Bartomeu. It lasted 30 minutes with the intention to win Messi over with his vision and plans for the future. It seems to have worked.

After losing to Osasuna the players also met together in the dressing room to discuss matters ahead of the Champions League return. They responded by winning 5-0 against Alaves. Now all that remains to be seen is whether this peace pact between Messi and Setien produces the right result againt Napoli on the 8th August.
