Leo Messi spoke to Catalunya Radio recently

Barcelona star Lionel Messi spoke to Ricard Torquemada on Catalunya Ràdio recently and the interview was aired before Saturday's game against Real Sociedad.

Messi, who said he likes watching football on television, commented that he didn't like watching himself on the box and that he doesn't usually watch his games back.

"I don't watch my gameso on TV," the Argentine said. "Not ones from when I was younger or the more recent ones. I do not like to watch myself and remember things in the past. I prefer to look forward.

"But I like to watch football. I like to watch everything. To be honest, I watch everything there is. I try to follow [the Spanish] league, but also Argentine football and the Copa Libertadores, although the time difference makes it tough.

As for his evolution, Messi, the Barça captain, confessed that "it's normal that a player evolves. When I debuted at 17, I played in another position and in another way. As the years pass, football changes, too. I change my way of playing, my way of moving on the pitch and that's made me evolve as a player."

What improvement are you most proud of?

"My final pass. In the last year, I think I have created a lot of chances, which have ended up in goals... others have not. In that sense, I have developed a lot."

What else?

"I have learned a lot about free-kicks, too, with my right foot. I feel like I am growing still and I try to learn and improve every day."

What's something that still resists you?

"Penalties. I would like to be more effective. It's really difficult. It's not the same in training as in games. You can have an idea or something you've practices, but at the moment of truth, it's more difficult than it sems. The goalkeeper also has a lot to do with it."
