Messi injury scare as Barça star won penalty in Napoli game
The Argentine crack won the spot kick after he was booted by Koulibaly
Lionel Messi had a busy first half against Napoli, scoring one goal, having another ruled out by VAR and then winning a penalty.
He won the penalty by nipping in front of defender Koulibaly, who proceeded to kick him in the ankle. Messi went down in pain and there was concern about his fitness.
The Argentine didn't step up for the penalty, which was converted by Luis Suarez, and hobbled down the break at half time but was OK to play on.
Barça will hope there are no long-term affects as they begin to look towards the last eight in Lisbon next week.
Suarez's penalty, given by VAR after referee Cüneyt Çakir checked on the pitchside monitor, made it 3-0 to Barça after goals from Lenglet and Messi. Messi had a second ruled out for handball.
Napoli pulled one back from the penalty spot just before half-time. Insigne converted after Rakitic had fouled Mertens.
