Messi: I don't regret what I said, I will say the same as last season

Leo Messi spoke in his role as Barça captain before the Arsenal match

He is the leader, the captain of the ship and he will never abandon it. If anyone thought Lionel Messi would be more careful with his words after last season's comments and how the campaign ended, they were wrong. Because Leo is pure ambition, he loves Barça and he knows that this team can, at least, fight to win everything.

He wasn't as explicit before the game against Arsenal on Sunday. He didn't talk about the "beautiful and desired trophy" but he was clear.

"It's difficult to say anything after last season," he began. "But I don't regret anything and I will say the same thing. I back these players and the coaching staff we have. Together, we're going to fight to win everything.

"Last season ended with a bitter taste, but we have to give value to La Liga, the eighth we have won in 11 years. That's important and maybe we don't give enough value to what we have done. This club always fights for everything and this year will be no different. We're refreshed and excited for the new season."
