Mertens: "We have the confidence to get a historic result against Barça"
The Napoli forward feels his team is ready to get a result at the Camp Nou
Dries Mertens has just signed a two-year extension with Napoli and is full of confidence going into the Champions League match against FC Barcelona.
"I'm happy to be staying," the Belgian forward told the club's official radio station 'Kiss, Kiss, Napoli'.
"On Saturday we have an important match which will help us in preparing for Barcelona," admitted Mertens. Napoli and Barça drew 1-1 in the first leg. "First, we go up against Lazio and we're focused on finishing the season strongly against a very tough opponent."
Gennaro Gattuso knows he must rely on his star forward if they are to take anything away from the Camp Nou. "The coach is preparing us really well. There's confidence in the team but also a great desire to play in a match which could create history." Napoli have never advanced to the quarter finals of the Champions League before.
