Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy is the latest player to be linked with a move to Barcelona, according to France Football. The Catalan club have been impressed by the Frenchman and see him as a possible replacement for Lucas Digne.
Previously at Le Havre, young left-back Mendy has been watched several times by Barça, who are looking for competition for Jordi Alba. The Spain international is having an exceptional season, but they also need a back-up who offers certain guarantees.
According to France Football, Blaugrana scouts have seen Mendy play regularly since last summer. His first season with Lyon has been very positive, with 17 appearances and three assists.
Ferland Mendy, 22, has a contract with his current club until 2022 but his performances could well see him leave before that expires. For now, Barça are keeping an eye on his progress.
