Mendes pushing for Adama Traore to return to Barça this month

The Wolves winger could make a sensational return to Camp Nou

Adama Traore's name has been on the table at Barcelona for weeks. His agent, Jorge Mendes, offered him as an alternative to Ousmane Dembele and the player gave the green light to the deal before the New Year, although no final decision had been made.

There is now renewed speculation that the operation could be carried out in January if Dembele's situation is resolved this week, but Barça, fow now, are only working on a deal for the summer. What's clear is that Adama is an option who would become a priority if Dembele leaves.

SPORT already revealed weeks ago that Adama was a target. In concrete, Mendes negotiated a deal during December and made it clear the player could leave Wolves for €22m. It could even be less if Barça prolong Francisco Trincao's loan in England or even include him in the deal.

In the last few days, Mendes has been pushing the deal again, with the relationship between the two clubs good. The agent wants a loan with an obligatory buy clause in the summer and a four-year deal for the Spain winger at Camp Nou. Barça are considering it, although Xavi's first choice remains Alvaro Morata, a natural No.9. Talks with Atletico and Juventus aren't moving forward at the moment, though.

Any signing this week will also depend on reducing the wage bill first, but a move for Adama is easier now that it was before.
