The Dutch forward wants to stay but the club are closing in on Raphinha and others

Memphis Depay is starting to find his future at Barcelona is not promising. Ousmane Dembele is staying, they are closing in on Raphinha and Lewandowski is a prime target. The Blaugrana have advised Memphis’s people that the option to leave is on the table and that they should look at offers, but Memphis would rather stay. There are some proposals for him but he will have the last word, and he will go with the club on tour in the USA.

Barcelona’s idea with Memphis has changed. Xavi thinks he’s a good player to have in attack, who can play in various positions. The Dutchman improved in the final weeks of the season and got minutes, but there will be an overbooking in attack. Memphis is, in the end, an asset that Barcelona can make money from selling.

Memphis has not made any decision yet and his hope is to stay. If in the end they totally open the door to him, the forward will study offers from Champions League clubs. Tottenham are interested but have not made big moves and Inter and Juve are also taking a look in Italy. Barcelona would rather sell than let him go for free next season.
