The Dutch forward will not be going to Inter Milan despite the claim

Memphis Depay is negotiating his sporting future and it’s likely he’s going to depart in January. The clearest option is Atletico Madrid, with his lawyer Sebastien Ledure saying he has not spoken to Inter Milan, per Fabrizio Romano.

“We have not contemplated nor spoken to Inter,” he explained. “I can deny this topic rotundly. It’s not a possibility that we are contemplating.”

In recent hours a story emerged, which suggested Barcelona wanted to swap him with Inter for Joaquin Correa - something Barca aren’t looking at either.

The Blaugrana were looking at a potential deal with Atletico involving a swap for Yannick Carrasco, but Atletico didn’t want to go through with it as they count on the Belgian.

Atletico had spoken with Barcelona and the player to find the best formula and it seems that perhaps a low cost transfer is the answer, with Memphis signing for a season and a half with the Rojiblancos.

Barca know that Atletico have taken in 10m euros from Chelsea for the Joao Felix loan and have the capacity to buy Memphis.
