The prognosis is not optimistic, particularly in the case of the central defender.

Jules Koundé and Memphis Depay, two of Barça's players in action on the first day of the international break, will return to Barcelona to undergo diagnostic tests to establish the exact extent of their injuries.

Koundé left the pitch 20 minutes into the match between France and Austria with discomfort in the back of his left thigh. The forecasts are pessimistic as the first medical estimates suggest that he will be out for around a month, meaning that he will miss the El Clasico on Sunday 16 October.

The Frenchman is expected to undergo a preliminary medical check-up this Friday at the France national team training camp. He will then return to Barcelona to undergo further diagnostic tests, carried out by Barça's medical services.

As for Memphis Depay, he had to withdraw from the match between Poland and the Netherlands in the 50th minute after a collision that caused him discomfort in his left thigh. The extent of the injury is still to be assessed.

Caution with Dembélé and Frenkie De Jong

Ousmane Dembélé and Frenkie De Jong were also injured in these games. In these cases, it seems that the problems are less serious than those of their teammates and they will continue to be a part of their respective national teams.

Nevertheless, given Ousmane Dembélé's history of injuries, taking any risks will be ill-advised.

The Denmark-France game is scheduled for Sunday 25, with fellow Blaugrana Andreas Christensen taking part, while the Netherlands-Belgium clash takes place on the same day.
