Meeting over Jordi Alba's future at Barcelona

The Catalan giants might be losing more than just one veteran this summer

On the day that Sergio Busquets announced his departure from FC Barcelona, the club has also been working on the possible departure of another first team player, Jordi Alba, although he still has one year left on his contract with the club.

Jordi Alba's agent, Vicente Forés, has gone to FC Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva in Sant Joan Despí to meet with Mateu Alemany to discuss the future of the Blaugrana full-back.

The club, as we reported in SPORT, has presented two proposals to the player:

A possible termination of the player's contract so that he can leave the club this season and negotiate with other clubs in time to find a team.

Or a very significant salary reduction so that he can fit in with the new salary reality of the club and the financial fair play.

It should be remembered that the player, with his current contract, would be at the top of the salary table of the squad this coming season.

In FC Barcelona's last match against Osasuna, Jordi Alba scored the winning goal and celebrated the goal with a gesture of kissing the shield of the shirt.

After the game, he went out onto the pitch with one of his best friends, Javier Gordillo, and took several photographs on the Camp Nou pitch.
