The Catalans are looking to get these deals done this week ahead of the Joan Gamper

Barcelona want to bring in Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea this week to stop them starting the season wit the London side. The deal is close but the main problem is Thomas Tuchel’s side are having trouble in the transfer marker to replace them. They need to bring in players.

Both players have agreed to come to Barcelona and Tuchel understands they should leave, but only with the condition that he can get replacements.

Xavi has been in permanent con tact with the players to keep them calm and reassure them a move will happen. He wants them for the Joan Gamper game next weekend.

The two players have a couple of free days after their tour of the US but from Monday they will press as hard as they can to leave. Their relationship with Chelsea is good but now they want an immediate resolution.

Chelsea have not shown any signs of wanting to break the negotiations. Barcelona are hopeful they will come in for Frenkie de Jong too.
