Mauricio Lemos has become one of Barcelona's centre-back targets for next season. The young Uruguayan centre-back has become one of the defenders with great potential during his time at Las Palmas.
On Tuesday he started his holiday in Uruguay, and also said: "That Barcelona are talking about me fills me with pride, it's been two years since I started at Defensor (his first club)."
The defender admitted that his adaptation to life in Spain has been surprising, for him and his coach Quique Setien. "The coach told me when I arrived that I was for the future, and later that he didn't imagine I would adapt so fast. To play against Barcelona and Real Madrid, who I watched on television, was incredible."
He has not been included in Uruguay's Copa America squad, but said: "to reach the national team would be a dream", although he knows that it will be difficult. "Godin and Gimenez are untouchable because they're at a great level," he said.
