The Dutch centre-back has not renewed his contract in Turin

Matthijs de Ligt has not renewed with Juventus, who want to extend his deal until 2026. The Italian club are now thinking of selling the defender who has a contract until 2024, per Corriere dello Sport.

Barcelona tried to sign him in 2019 when they ended up getting Frenkie de Jong. Both had shone at Ajax, but the centre back ended up choosing Juve, where he has not quite lived up to expectations. Barcelona are still huntingg for a defender, although Xavi prefers Kounde and Koulibaly. The fee Juve want is 85m euros, which is too much for Barcelona.

Per the same report, there are various clubs that have interest in De Liga, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United and PSG.
