The defender is wanted by Barcelona but Mino Raiola's demands are problematic
Matthijs de Ligt has not announced the team he will play at next season yet but Barcelona want to sign the Dutch defender. Negotiations with his agent Mino Raiola continue as the Italian looks to get the most money possible from the 19 year old Ajax captain.
De Ligt was given the player of the season award in Holland on Monday and after receiving the award, said he voted for Frenkie de Jong - Barca’s new signing - who finished third in the rankings.
Asked about his future and the chance of playing alongside De Jong again, De Ligt said: “I think he had a great season. He deserves to sign for Barcelona. Play with him there? It would be good to play with Frenkie at a club, but in these moments I don’t know what will happen.”
