The Dutch defender spoke to Italian newspaper Tuttosport

Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt gave an interview to Tuttosport in which he discussed his plans for the future. Juventus and Barcelona are two of the clubs fighting for his signature.

De Ligt, winner of the 2018 Golden Boy award given out by Tuttosport to the best U21 player of the year, is thriving at Ajax and with the Dutch national team.

“Go to Juve? It’s a possibility, but there are other clubs,” said De Ligt. “My future will be decided by (Mino) Raiola.”

Ajax play Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“I’m inspired by Chiellini and Bonucci, two models for defenders today,” said De Ligt.

“De Roon (who plays for Middlesbrough and previously was in Serie A) told me how to beat them.”

On Cristiano Ronaldo, who is an injury doubt, De Ligt said: “I hope that Cristiano can play, it’s fascinating to go up against him.”
