Matheus Fernandes & Gustavo Maia: Two Brazilians, zero presentations

Neither of the players have been officially presented by Barcelona this summer

It has caught the attention in a big way that Barcelona have still not officially presented Matheus Fernandez, who has been assigned to the first team this season. He was on loan at Real Valladolid last season but has not managed to find a new club this summer and remains at Barça. As for Barça B, there aren't presentations with press conferences and so on, but there are usually images of the player signing his contract and posing at the Johan Cruyff Stadium with their new shirt. That was done this summer with Ndiaye, Alex Ruiz, Andrés Solano and Joaquín Zeballos.

But, curiously, that has not been the case with the signing that cost the most money, Gustavo Maia, who the club confirmed had signed on Aug. 6. He joined the club for 4.5 million euros on a five-year deal with a 300 million euro release clause.

From there, the Brazilian completed a return to work medical on Aug. 19 when the B team returned to training. The club shared some photographs.

Two days later, he completed his first training session but that's it. On Aug. 28, Moussa Ndiaye was officially presented in images with director Xavier Vilajoana and academy director Patrick Kluivert.

But that never happened with Gustavo Maia, who impressed in the recent friendly win over L'Escala. As if the case with Matheu Fernandes in the first team, he has not been, so far, officially presented.
