Mateu Alemany laying the groundwork for 10 Barça sales

The sporting director is ready to bin several of the club's players this summer if he can

Mateu Alemany has work on his hands to thin out the squad for next season.

Until now the sports area have not wanted to communicate their intentions directly to the squad to stop them from disconnecting but it’s time to get going. In 10 days, all those who the club want to sell will know and should start looking for new clubs. However, the challenge is high because salaries are large and it can be trick to move some on.

Some will be sold and some will be loaned. Neto, Lenglet, Mingueza, Umtiti, Memphis and Braithwaite are players that could be sold or exchanged. Some clubs are interested but the players want to keep their salary. None are keen to depart, so Alemany will have to press them. There could be conflict.

Barcelona will also try to loan Blade and Riqui Puig, while Adama and Luuk will go back to their parent clubs after loan.

In terms of big sales, Frenkie de Jong and Sergino Dest are on the table as potential money spinners. Anyone else could join them if the offers are big enough.

Barcelona are hoping to clear 170m euros in sales and salaries saved, if they can get a decent fee for C Coutinho. Barcelona want big operations to be done by the end of June.
