The France forward wants to move clubs in January in search of regular football

Anthony Martial's agent has confirmed the forward wants to leave Manchester United in January and Barcelona are alert to the situation.

"Anthony wants to leave United in the next window. He just needs to play and he doesn't want to stay where that's not happening, so we will talk soon," Phillippe Lamboley told Sky Sports.

Martial is a player that Barça have followed but club sources say he's not among their priorities for next month. However, given his desire to leave, he's an option that could gain weight in the coming weeks.

United are not against letting Martial leave. New interim coach Ralf Rangick wants to lighten the squad, given there are currently more than 30 players at his disposal.

Attack is one of the most heavily populated areas. Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been the German's preferred options so far.

Behind them, with Marital, are Lingard, Cavani and youngster Elanga, who Rangick has been impressed with since taking over recently.

Rangick has said: "If there are players not getting minutes it makes sense to speak individually with them and look for solutions. Maybe a loan could be useful, but it's still too soon to talk about that."

Martial has a contract with United until 2024. He joined the club in 2015 for 60 million euros from Monaco dubbed as one of the most promising young forwards in Europe.

It's estimated he earns around 13 million euros net per season, one of the highest wages at Old Trafford. That salary could complicate any move to Barça but he's an option that will almost certainly be available in January.
