The Brazilian centre-back has been called up to replace the injured Pique

Aleña has been a regular in matchday squads during the last two months

FC Barcelona travel to Las Palmas with a number of players missing, meaning B team players Marlon Santos and Carles Aleña have been included in the squad.

Rafinha, Aleix Vidal and Jeremy Mathieu are long-term absentees and they have been joined by Sergi Roberto (suspended) and Gerard Pique (stomach virus).

Barça arrived in Las Palmas late on Saturday night after taking a flight from the Catalan city after training -- they are staying in the Hotel Santa Catalina.

The 19 players called up for the trip are: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Masip, Rakitic, Busquets, Denis Suárez, Arda Turan, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, André Gomes, Umtiti, Aleñá, and Marlon.

Brazilian defender Marlon comes in for Pique, who has been hospitalised with a virus, while Aleña takes the place of Sergi Roberto.

It's the fifth time Marlon has been included in the first team squad for a league, although he's not yet made his debut. He has played in the Champions League, though, coming on against Celtic in the group phase.

Lucas Digne has been given the green light to return to action after injuring his hamstring in the win against Villarreal last weekend.
