The Spanish left back is keen on coming to the Camp Nou this summer
It’s no secret that Barcelona are trying to work on deals for next season and both Chelsea defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are targets. They are the chosen ones and there’s an agreement with both players, but the operations are going differently.
The club are convinced they can get both, but Marcos Alonso’s signing seems closer than that of Azpilicueta. The left-back has a year left on his deal but has been asking Chelsea to let him go back to Spain for a whil.e
The London club have given him their word that they will and he could leave for a symbolic, small transfer fee.
With Azpilicueta the situation is different. Chelsea have activated the year extra in his deal so if he comes to Barcelona it will have to be for a transfer fee.
The defender wants to leave but Chelsea are being tougher. There will likely be a reasonable solution but for now there is no deal. Barcelona want them both by the time pre-season starts.
