The PSG man is set to spend some time in Ibiza this summer

Barça have met with him there before to discuss a possible move

Marco Verratti's people feel it's the moment to remain silent and to not do or say anything which could slow down his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder has told the club, before going on holiday, that he would like to leave this summer and now the moment of truth arrives. Verratti will wait for news from his usual summer getaway in Formentera.

The Italian midfielder, if there's no change of plan, will spend time on the island of Ibiza, as he usually does, and Barça will take advantage of his location to try to push through a deal. It would not be the first time Barça meet with Verratti in Formentera: last year, Ariedo Braida was seen with the PSG star.

Braida met him to learn his intentions and it was made clear Verratti would like to sign for Barça, but the conditions were not in place for a deal to happen. PSG shut up shop and the Blaugrana went for other targets. One year later, the player is more willing to help out by requesting a move, but PSG are still not ready to sell.

Verratti, who usually goes fairly unnoticed on the island, wants to disconnect, but he also wants his future sorted. His intention is for things to be fixed before his holiday is over, although he's aware from his people that it could become a soap opera.

He's not short of offers, given Barça aren't the only club keen. And it's not been ruled out that PSG make a new contract offer in a bid to stop him escaping, even though it's not about money. Everything is possible, but Verratti is prioritising sporting success over economics.
