Marca claim Lionel Messi told Barcelona he doesn't want to renew his contract
The FC Barcelona star is likely to sign a new deal with the club in the coming months but Marca claimd he told Barcelona he would not sign an extention to his deal which expires in June 2018
Lionel Messi told Barcelona in July that he did not want to renew his contract, according to Marca.
The Madrid-based newspaper claim that he made the decision after he and his father received convictions and suspended sentences for alleged tax fraud.
However it seems the situation has changed since then with Barcelona announcing they would open contract talks with Lionel Messi in the current months, to extend his deal which expires in June 2018.
At the club they are not worried about the issue and are waiting for his father to come to the city to enter negotiations. He will sign on again at Barcelona.
