Atletico Madrid have contacted Barcelona over signing Ivan Rakitic for next season, Marca say. The Croatian is looking for an exit after being dropped by Ernesto Valverde.
The interest in the Barca player is nothing new, with Miguel Angel Gil Marin trying to sign him twice before, as he would fit nicely into coach Diego Simeone’s scheme.
The first time was when he left Schalke 04 for Sevilla, and the second was when he left Sevilla for Barca.
Marca say Rakitic would like to leave Barca for Atletico, but various other sides would battle for his services too. Inter Milan are the most interested, as reported by SPORT, having had a meeting with the Catalans.
Other sides that have shown interest in Rakitic are Juventus and Manchester United.
Barcelona would look to get around 35 million euros for the Croatian international.
