The French forward will sign a 5-year deal with Barcelona and earn €21m per season, the same as he did at Atletico

French forward Antoine Griezmann agreed terms with FC Barcelona for the second time on the 11th March. 'MARCA' have revealed details about that agreement for the first time. Interestingly, Griezmann won't be taking a pay cut to join Barça and will instead earn the same as he did after signing his most recent contract with Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann will sign a five-year deal and in the first two seasons he'll earn €18m per season and in the last three it'll rise to €21m, then €23m and finally €25m. This means over the course of his time at Barça the forward is set to pocket a cool €105m which averages out at €21m per season.

A SAFETY CLAUSE

It confirms that Griezmann won't take a pay cut from his incredible wage at Atletico. It's only 'cheaper' for his first two seasons at the club but over the course of the deal he'll earn exactly the same.

As to avoid a repeat of last season's disappointment, there's a clause included in the pre-contract agreement. They are much higher than 12 months ago and should Griezmann remain at Atletico, it will be his club which is forced to pay the penalisation fee.

There's talk an announcement could be made this week but, at the same time, they don't take anything to be taken away from Frenkie de Jong's presentation which is tomorrow. Talks remain ongoing to finalise the structure of the payments and avoid going through LaLiga.
