Marc Overmars interested in a Barcelona return
De Telegraaf reported he would like to be the club's next sporting director
In Holland, Marc Overmars is being linked to FC Barcelona. De Telegraaf says he will leave Ajax at the end of the season and would like to come to the Catalans to help lead the new project as sporting director.
He would also like a position at Arsenal, where he played before joining Barcelona. He has done well at Ajax both in sporting and economic terms, for the club.
“It’s an open secret, but he would not turn down a challenge at a great club of a high level or one of his former clubs, FC Barcelona and Arsenal. He has been linked with those clubs in the past,” wrote De Telegraaf.
It must be remembered that Victor Font has already said his sporting director would be Jordi Cruyff. Joan Laporta and Toni Freixa have not revealed who their candidates would be.
