The Bayern goalkeeper isn't sure about the Barça man's recent comments

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has responded to Marc Andre ter Stegen, his competition for the No1 shirt with the Germany national team.

The Bayern captain spoke to the media after his side's game against RB Leipzig this weekend.

"I am a team player and I always think in the good of the team," he said. "I don't know if something like this is good for the group, above all in our position."

Neuer revealed that while the German national team had been together for the games against Holland and Northern Ireland, Ter Stegen had not revealed his unhappiness.

He said he understands that those that don't play will be disappointed, but added that, in addition to Ter Stegen, there are other goalkeepers waiting for their chances.

"It's not the first time that Ter Stegen's said this," he added. "I'm happy with how I am playing and my responsibilities. I can't say anything else.

"There are a lot of really good goalkeepers. The discussion is not fair with respect to Bernd Leno and Kevin Trapp. I understand those not playing aren't satisfied, but the important thing is the team's success and we have to support each other."

Last week, Ter Stegen had said: "It is not easy to find an explanation [for nor starting] as I am giving the best account of myself in each game to make the decision more difficult.

"I am trying [to become the first-choice goalkeeper] anyway, but this trip with the national team has been a tough blow for me."
