Manchester United want to take advantage of the delicate moment at FC Barcelona to strengthen their squad. According to the Manchester Evening News, the Premier League side want to buy on the cheap from Can Barça and four names are on the table: Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Ousmane Dembele.
United asked about Umtiti prior to his contract renewal in 2018. In fact, they even asked for a price. However, knee problems have curtailed their interest, although at a 'low cost' price they could be tempted.
As for Dembele, the interest is linked to Borussia Dortmund's reluctance to sell Jadon Sancho. The French forward is the Plan B, once again as long as he's available either on a loan or at a reasonable price. There has been contact but for now the player wants to stay at Camp Nou.
United will find it more difficult to land Rakitic, who is set on a return to Sevilla. However, the English side would be interested if there was a genuine chance.
Finally, Vidal is also of interest. His future at Camp Nou is not clear with 12 months to run on his deal. The Chilean wants to feel important and his experience could be key at Old Trafford.
