Manchester United target Barcelona duo De Jong and Araujo

Manchester United want to create a top-class project for their return to the Champions League. They have a dream list and, according to 'El País', Blaugrana duo Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araújo are in the spotlight and they are going to try to sign them any way they can. The two players are very clear, for now, that they want to stay at Barça.

Ten Hag's top priority is to sign a centre-forward. The three candidates are Osimhen (Napoli), Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Vlahovic (Juventus). They are complicated operations, but the English club is especially confident that they can convince Tottenham to get Kane once and for all. United will also be bidding for a winger and have Coman (Bayern) as their main option.

For Ten Hag, it is key to find balance in midfield and improve sporting performances. And that is where he has focused on Barça to bring in two of his key players. His dream is still Frenkie de Jong, but the player has given a negative response in the past. What's more, he is likely to extend his contract with Barça in the coming months. Araújo has also renewed and is waiting for his new contract to be registered, something that will happen immediately when LaLiga gives the OK to the club's viability plan.

Araújo already had offers from the Premier League during the months he was negotiating his continuity with Barça and rejected them all, especially Chelsea. The Uruguayan stayed earning less than what he was offered elsewhere and will be one of the captains next season. His departure is practically impossible.
