Manchester United look to Barça again, this time for the right-back Dest

The Red Devils are exploring options at right-back and Dest is on the shortlist.

FC Barcelona right-back Sergiño Dest has emerged as an option for Manchester United. After the failed bid for Frenkie De Jong, Erik Ten Hag's club have turned their sights on the American to strengthen their defence.

The right-back is out of favour at Barca and is looking for a way out. According to Sky Sports, Dest could arrive at United if Wan-Bissaka, pursued by Crystal Palace and West Ham, ultimately leaves.

With Diogo Dalot also in the starting line-up, Sergiño Dest would arrive as direct competition for the right-back position.

The former Ajax man has three years left on his contract with the Catalan giants and has already made a total of 72 official appearances across competitions, with three goals and five assists to his name.

Despite being a great asset in the market two seasons ago, the defender has failed to live up to expectations.

United go crazy

Manchester United have invested more than 200 million euros this summer. With the arrival of Erik Ten Hag, the club have embarked on a new era and have made the financial effort to meet all his demands- Antony (€100m), Casemiro (€70m), Lisandro Martinez (€57m), Malacia (€15m) and Eriksen (€0m).

Erik Ten Hag has also been very interested in Barça midfielder Frenkie De Jong. Though familiar from their time in Amsterdam, the player has refused to leave Camp Nou and it seems likely that he will remain under Xavi for the 2022/23 season despite the club's financial situation.
