The Dutchman is in demand at Barca with Ronald Koeman a big fan

Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon president, spoke at a press conference for Marcelo’s contract renewal and was asked about Memphis Depay.

The Dutch striker is on FC Barcelona’s agenda as a free signing this summer.

“I have nothing to criticise him for,” said the chief. “I will respect his decision. If he goes to a bigger club than Lyon, he’ll be right.

“If he stays this will mean that we’ve been a great adventure for him and we have won something.”

Barca coach Ronald Koeman is a big Depay fan and wants him at the club ahead of Sergio Aguero.

“He’s being a good captain,” added Aulas. “He speaks a lot to the other players in the squad. In recent years we’ve helped Memphis have the best platform possible for him to get to and improve his level from the 2014 World Cup, where he broke out.”
