Luis Suárez wants to return to Barcelona
The Uruguayan striker won the title with Atletico Madrid last year and is about to be out of contract
Barcelona need and want to reinforce their striker position in the summer. They have been working on it and while Robert Lewandowski is now the first choice, they are also looking elsewhere if it doesn’t work.
El Chiringuito claim that Luis Suarez wants to return to Barça. The Uruguyan forward, whose contract is up at Atletico Madrid on June 30, and barring a surprise will not renew, is willing to lower his salary to come back. His objective is to compete for one more year at the top level and arrive in the best condition possible for the Qatar World Cup.
Per the TV show, Barça are aware of Suarez’s interest in returning. For now they have told him to wait. They aren’t ruling it out and less so given the complications with signings, but they also haven’t forgotten that the Uruguayan is far from his best and the team needs more exciting arrivals.
