The Uruguayan forward doesn't think Madrid will let their lead slip now

In an interview with SPORT, Luis Suarez has admitted that Madrid’s victory over Granada on Monday was an almost decisive blow which will decide the season in favour of Madrid.

“If one has to be sincere, La Liga is almost impossible,” said the Uruguayan forward. He said Barca had lost it from their own mistakes.

“It’s clear the game against Sevilla is a game it that makes everything hard for you. We had options to go ahead, that day was important, but in Vigo it was key. We lost our big chance. If we had beaten Celta, we would have been better against Atletico. The blow was in Vigo, the late goal from Aspas. It hurt. Now we have to finish (the season) well and go for the Champions League.”

Suarez spoke at length to SPORT, as you can read tomorrow, including about Lautaro Martinez’s potential signing.

“He’s a great player,” added the Uruguayan. “He’s been playing at a great level for Inter. It’s not easy to arrive in Italy from Argentina and what he’s done in a league as hard as Italy’s shows what he’s done. He’s young and if he comes to Barca we will try to help him adapt. And help him to feel comfortable.”
