Luis Suarez left Barcelona's training ground in tears on Wednesday. The striker has said goodbye to his teammates after his final training session before terminating his contract at Camp Nou. Suarez emptied out his locker at the Ciutat Esportiva and bid farewell to the staff that have become friends during the last six years. Television footage showed him then leaving the training base in a visibly emotional state.
It was a tough moment for Suarez, who leaves behind many experiences inside the Barcelona dressing room, where he's made many friends throughout his time at the club. He has become the third top scorer in the club's history with 198 goals, too. It's been a successful period for him and Barça, even if it does end in disappointment, his last game proving that 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
After saying goodbye to his teammates, now, after reaching an agreement in principle with Barça on Tuesday, Atletico Madrid and Suarez's lawyers are expected to finalise the terms of his contract recision on Wednesday afternoon. Suarez will give up a part of what is owed to him as part of the final year of his deal, while Barcelona will allow him to sign for Atletico for free -- although they will have to pay some performance-related variables in the end.
Suarez will then have the chance to say goodbye in a farewell event at Camp Nou on Thursday, similar to the one held by Ivan Rakitic ahead of his move to Sevilla.
