The Sun say that Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been in touch with people at Liverpool to recommend a signing to them.
Celta Vigo's Maxi Gomez, who plays alongside Suarez for Uruguay, is the forward who is being touted for a move to Anfield.
Gomez, 22, is one of a number of young strikers coming through in Europe and he was close to a Premier League move in January before finally staying in La Liga.
Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool are some of the clubs with an eye on him with the summer in mind. He has a release clause of 50 million euros.
Suarez's recommendation could see Liverpool at the very least step up their interest in Gomez, whose Celta side are fighting relegation this season.
January offers were thought to be around 35 million euros but Celta were holding out for his clause. That could change if they are relegated.
