Luis Enrique reveals how he motivated Barça for Champions League win

The former Barcelona coach looked back on the triumph for Barça TV

Five years on from Barcelona's Champions League triumph in Berlin, when they beat Juventus 3-1, then coach Luis Enrique has revealed what he told the players before the game,

Luis Enrique, now in charge of Spain, said he told the players how scared Juve must have been looking at the Barça lineup.

"I remember, half-jokingly, I asked the players: 'what do you think is the worst thing that can happen to us today?'" Luis Enrique told Barcelona TV.

"Someone or other started off... Xavi [Hernandez], [Dani] Alves, the veterans: 'That we're not faithful to our style'. All things to do with football.

"I said: 'The worst thing is to be a Juve player and have to face Barcelona!' Imagine you have to mark Suarez, Ney, Leo, Andres Iniesta, [Sergio] Busquets; try to score against [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen; [Alvaro] Morata, try to score up against [Javier] Mascherano and [Gerard] Pique; [Patrice] Evra, try to defend against Dani Alves.

"It was all half-joking, but in reality, imagine we're in the Juve team talk and I'm talking about Barcelona: you're bricking it!"

Ivan Rakitic, Neymar and Suarez were on target as Barça won their fifth Champions League trophy. The wait for number six goes on.
