Digne injured his hamstring against Villarreal but starts against Las Palmas

He joins Mascherano, Jordi Alba and Umtiti in a new-look Barcelona backline

Absences in defence have obliged Luis Enrique to name a new-look backline for Barcelona's trip to Las Palmas on Sunday, the penultimate game of the La Liga season.

Luis Enrique told the press he had various options to solve his defensive problems and in the end he's gone for Lucas Digne. It's a selection which could mean a number of things, with Javier Mascherano, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba also selected.

One option, the most likely, is that Digne plays as the left-sided centre-back, where he has briefly played late on in games before. That would see Mascherano play as the right-back -- Digne also played as a central defender against Hercules in the Copa del Rey.

Another option would be for Digne to play as the right-back, while Mascherano slots in alongside Umtiti in the middle of defence.

Barça B defender Marlon Santos, meanwhile, will have to wait on the bench for his first La Liga appearance.

There are no surprises elsewhere, though, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez all starting in the Canaries.

Las Palmas XI: Varas; Michel, Lemos, Bigas, Helder; Montoro, Mesa, Viera; Jese, Prince, Momo.

Barça XI: Ter Stegen; Mascherano, Umtiti, Digne, Jordi Alba; Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Andrés Iniesta; Messi, Luis Suárez, Neymar.
